Presidents 2018 Christmas Message

Dear VPAC members

As the year closes, I would like to thank the tireless efforts of the Committee over the past 12 months to improve the amenities of the Club.

Recent improvements to the Lodge have been a new kitchen, Al fresco area with more stunning views, new games room furniture and recovering of the Pool table.  External Security cameras were installed to prevent theft.

In 2019, some of the improvement will be the lodge being painted inside and out. The first three weeks of February 2019 will be blocked out for this purpose. The Lounge suites in the main area are being recovered. And our recently purchased Mt.Buller lift chairs will be modified and mounted for your viewing pleasure around the lodge.

Some of you may be aware that we had a successful VCAT hearing to prevent the establishment of a Rock Extraction site directly behind the lodge.  Your committee worked with the Merrijig Residents Action Group to prevent this disruption to the serenity.

I would also just like to remind members, please clean up after yourself whilst enjoying the lodge. Please ensure you comply with the cleaning regime before departure.

Have a Merry Christmas, Safe and prosperous New Year.  See you in 2019.

Jeff Maher

President Victoria Police Alpine Club.
